Keep as many players from
previous season as you want
The Weberg Football League is
based on NFL Player Scoring only.
Each Franchise may keep
as many players as they want
A team MUST claim their franchise players no later
than the designated deadline (usually week 3 of pre-season) or they will not
have any keepers from the previous season
The Draft
Draft Method: Serpentine
(1-10, 10-1)
Rounds: 22
Each franchise is required to
draft 1 defensive unit, 1 special team unit, and 1 head coach
Draft order is determined by last
year’s point standings
Each franchise is allotted 90
seconds to make their selection through the first 6 rounds. For rounds 7
through 22 each team is allotted 1 minute to make their selection. If a
franchise does not make their selection within the given time, they will have
15 seconds immediately following the next pick to make their selection.
Throughout draft day each franchise may make unlimited transactions.
Franchise Rosters
16 Position Players
1 Defensive Units
1 Special Team Units
1 Head Coach’s
Unlimited IR Spots
Every franchise is required to
have 1 defense, 1 special team, and 1 head coach on their roster always, they
can never have more than 2
Starting Lineup
1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1
DE, 1 SP, 1 HC.
Lineups must be turned in to the commissioner via the
website, or in case of internet issues, another team owner before the start of
that player’s game.
Any player that is on the roster of an NFL team that
plays prior to Sunday is LOCKED as soon as their game starts. Those players can
NOT be picked up, dropped or traded until the
following week.
Free Agent Transactions
Each franchise is allotted unlimited free agent transactions through the end of
the season.
Trades
No limit on trades made week 1 thru week 12 if the
trade is for equal # of players. If you were to trade 2 players for 1 you would
then need to use a free agent transaction to get your roster to the correct #
of players.
NO TRADES AFTER WEEK 12.
All transactions made between 8
am CST Monday and 10 PM CST Wednesday are subject to “Blind
Bidding” (conditional claims also accepted). From 8 a.m. CST Thursday morning until 11:59 a.m. CST Sunday all players are taken on a first
come first serve basis. Any player dropped from a roster may not be picked up
until the following week.
“Blind Bidding on Free agents.”
Each team has $30 (fictional) to bid on the free agent
they are claiming. The highest bid wins the claim. If more than 1 team bids the
same amount for the same player a coin toss will done to decide who receives
the player. Once out of your $30 you will no longer be able to make free agent
claims before Thursday.
Conditional Claim
A franchise may make a claim on a second player,
assuming he does not get his first pick.
For instance, let’s say Marvin Harrison and Randy Moss
are both available. A franchise can claim Randy Moss and on the condition that
franchise does not get Randy, claim Marvin also. If the franchise gets it’s first choice, it then loses any claims
on their second choice.
Head-to-Head - Playoff's - Super Bowl
Along with the TOTAL points for the entire season we
will also play a head-to-head format each week (like the NFL). Every team will
play each other twice in the regular season – to achieve this some weeks there
will doubleheaders. Seedings for the playoffs will be based on head-to-head
record.
Playoffs begin week 14 and conclude with the Super
Bowl week 17.
All teams make the playoffs with
the top 6 head-to-head records receiving a bye the first week. Tiebreaker for head-to-head
is total points.
Tie Breaker for Playoffs/Super Bowl is the highest
scoring bench player, if needed, the order would continue as follows; benched
head coach, benched defense then benched special teams.
Rules Committee
The rules committee is made up of 3 franchise owners.
The commissioner is not eligible for the committee. On draft day, each team
will vote for 3 people. The top 3 vote getters will be the rules committee. The
function of the rules committee is to handle all issues that arise when a team
feels it is not being treated fairly, or disputes a decision, made by the
commissioner. An owner must submit his dispute in writing to the commissioner
and the rules committee. The dispute will be forwarded to all franchise owners
by the commissioner. A 2-1 vote by the rules committee will overrule the
commissioner. On draft day, before the draft begins, a franchise can make a
motion to vote on a new rules committee, if seconded,
there will be a new election before the draft begins. Otherwise, the rules
committee stays unchanged from year to year.
An annual rules meeting will be held sometime between
the end of the Super Bowl and the following years draft to clarify existing
rules and discuss future changes. Any changes will be voted upon, teams will be notified in person, by
phone or e-mail and given adequate time to vote.
